Places
These are stories of our explorations. We include place names, launch spots, parks names, etc., but since we don’t have maps and addresses, we wouldn’t necessarily consider them guides. Just our experiences which, if you like the sounds of them, could turn into your experiences!
(If you’re looking for a guide to trails and launches in the Delaware/Maryland coastal area as well as the Eastern Shore, this is the most inclusive list I’ve found: Delmarva Trails and Waterways.)

Bike Trails & Rides
Nothing is better than exploring an area on two wheels. Throw in a lunch, or even better—a brewery – and it is heaven! We’re not hard core, crazy-mileage bikers (although Mitch has put over 50,000 miles on his recumbent). We love trails and lightly traveled back roads where you don’t have to worry about becoming a hood ornament.

Paddling Trips
Years ago, we were talking with Rick, the owner of Survival Products, a now-closed kayak store in Salisbury. He said a guy was getting ready to buy a kayak when he asked, “Where can I paddle around here?” Rick said, “Have you looked at a map? We’re on a pennisula. We’re surrounded by water!”
A kayak is the best way to explore.

Sailing Trips
Sailing is magical. No a motor, no fuel, with just the wind a sailboat can cover significant distances. On a beautiful sunny day when the wind is perfect, it’s exhilarating – the best feeling ever. Sometimes, when the wind is light, it’s a lesson in patience. And sometimes, when the wind is switching and gusty, it’s terrifying (for me anyway. Mitch is usually smiling the entire time!).

Trail Runs
Why run on the pavement when you could run on dirt? Why inhale gas fumes when you could be smelling pine trees? Why stare at cars and buildings when you could be watching for flowers, changing leaves, and birdies? To me, trail runs are fun while road running kinda feels like exercise.
